Alexander Ovechkin’s NCAA bracket is confusing, hilarious, highly Ovie-ian (pic)

That. Is. Awesome. Something tells me that Washington Capitals superstar Alexander Ovechkin either: a) doesn’t quite understand how to correctly fill out an NCAA Tournament Brackets; b) is profoundly lazy; c) enjoys drawing circles and squiggly lines irrespective of whether or not the situation warrants it; d) looked a little something like this when he [...]

Here’s Alex Ovechkin’s sorry excuse of an NCAA bracket (Photo)

Washington Capitals forward Joel Ward shares with us the above photo of Alex Ovechin’s crazy, connect-the-dots bracket for March Madness. In what looks like a page out of the Caps’ playbook, Ovie has Kentucky over Alabama in the national title game. I think. Other things of note: 15 seed Norfolk State to the Elite Eight, Nine seed St. Louis to the Final Four. Ballsy calls by...

Byfuglien helps Jets clip Caps, close in on eighth place

Defenseman Dustin Byfuglien scored to snap a tie midway into the third period as the host Winnipeg Jets pulled to within two points of eighth-place Washington with a 3-2 victory over the Capitals on Friday. Captain Andrew Ladd netted his eighth goal in 11 contests and Nik Antropov also tallied for the Jets, who secured their fourth straight victory at MTS Centre. Brooks Laich recorded...

Every March the spectacle that is March Madness takes over and seeps into nearly every imaginable facet of life. Hockey is no exception. Alex Ovechkin’s NCAA Bracket Is Great

Dan Steinberg pointed out a few fairly hilarious items regarding the NCAA Tournament bracket that Alex Ovechkin filled out. 1)  He signed the bracket “OVI8” at the top. 2)  He picked Alabama to advance to the title game, against Kentucky. 3)  His elite eight appears to include Kentucky, Duke, St. Louis, Norfolk State, Syracuse, West Virginia, Alabama and Georgetown. 4) ...

GARTH: Jets Up The Ante

The Sabres enter their game in Sunrise on Saturday night in tenth place in the Eastern Conference. Dustin Byfuglien's goal midway through the third period gave the Jets an impressive 3-2 regulation with against the Washington Capital on Friday night. The bad news is that the Sabres drop from ninth place to tenth place. The good news is the Jets won in regulation, hence, there is...

You’ll probably need a decoder ring to figure out Alex Ovechkin’s NCAA bracket

Don’t bother enlarging the picture…making it bigger doesn’t make it any easier to decipher. Give Ovi credit for trying his hand at filling out a bracket for this year’s NCAA tournament, which is what I’m assuming the Capitals forward was trying to do here. nEither that or he mistook this empty bracket for one of those restaurant placemats with the connect-the-dots picture...

Jets 3, Capitals 2

Dustin Byfuglien crashed the net and scored the go-ahead goal in the third period as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Washington Capitals 3-2 on Friday night. As Byfuglien skated in front of Capitals goalie Tomas Vokoun, Evander Kane sent the puck into the crease and the big defenseman tipped it in at 9:21 of the third. Washington went on the power play during the final 2:22 of the...

VIDEO: Winnipeg Jet's fans mock Ovechkin with "Crosby's better chants."

A flood of people tweeted us about this. Credit goes to @whistler for the vid: The chants become louder as the vid goes on The announcers also acknowledge it. Really bizarre stuff. This might be the first documented case of a crowd outside of Pittsburgh chanting a pro Crosby thing.

Winnipeg fans chant ‘Crosby’s better’ at Capitals

This is absolutely amazing.  The Capitals played the Jets last night in Winnipeg and lost 3-2.  With a few minutes left in the game the fans started a pretty solid ‘Crosby’s better’ chant, no doubt aimed for Alex Ovechkin.  Pretty funny and amazing for another team’s fans to chant something like this.  Check is out below. <a href=" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVOpEKECwnA

Capitals-Blackhawks Preview

Until their most recent game, the Washington Capitals were making strides toward a fifth consecutive playoff berth. To rebound with a win Sunday night, the Capitals will have to get past a Chicago Blackhawks team that's had considerable success lately despite the absence of captain Jonathan Toews. Washington (36-29-6) had won four in a row and a season-high three straight on...
