Joakim Andersson briefly gave the undermanned Detroit Red Wings a jolt of life in the second period Friday night when he beat Anaheim netminder Victor Fasth for his first career goal. Unfortunately, Andersson’s moment went to waste quickly — the Ducks tied the game 26 seconds later en route to a 5-2 win over the Wings.
Still, Andersson will remember the game as when he got off the schneid for his first-ever NHL point.
Andersson’s came courtesy of some nice work from Tomas Tatar, who made a nice pass to Jakub Kindl at the point. Kindl then walked to the top of the circles and dumped a feed to Andersson — and the Wings’ young center did the rest.
