The Buffalo Sabres were no match for the Bruins. Johnny Boychuck was a big reason why. With the game tied 1-1 in the third period, Boychuck attacked a loose puck in the Sabres' zone. His shot zipped through a crowd of three Sabres defenders and Buffalo goalie Jhonas Enroth. In doing so, Boychuck not only broke the tie and helped the Bruins to a 3-1 win, but he also earned a nomination for the Captain Morgan Goal of the Week. Check out Boychuk's shot in the video below.

GARTH: Sekera In; McNasty & Gerbe Out
Updated 11:41am EDT:
John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports that Reggie Sekera will play tonight. The odd D man out will be Brayden McNabb, not Mike Weber. Not sure I like the move to sit McNabb, what with Weber being a bit of a liability in his own end in recent games.
Nathan Gerbe will sit out his second straight game tonight.
I spoke with Nate at the rink on Friday and...
GARTH: Hottest Line In Hockey
Don't let Tyler Ennis' youthful look fool you. The Baby Face Assassin has earned the respect of his coaches, team mates and opponents in recent weeks for his dogged determination to create more scoring for the Buffalo Sabres. Ennis is back where he belongs, thriving at the centre position. In the past week, 82-63-21 are the spoon that is stirring the drink for Buffalo.

GARTH: Win Ten Of 'Em
Lindy Ruff put a fine point on the pencil on Sunday in Tampa. When asked what his overriding emotion is for the final ten games of this season, Ruff gruffly answered:
"Win ten of 'em".
With ten games remaining in the regular season, Ruff is demanding a dominant performance from his squad in each of its remaining games.
Ruff's still chafed at the fact that...
GARTH: New Lines For Florida Trip
The Sabres are on the ice right now before they head south for Florida.
Lindy's new lines:
Tropp-Roy-Pommer
Vanek-Hodgson-Leino
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford
McCormick-Boyes-Kaleta

Reggie Sekera, sans red "no contact" pinnie, is on the ice. Might he take the place of Mike Weber?
Brayden McNabb is still here.

No Nathan Gerbe to be seen.
The core, part deux
Almost every Sabres fan looks back on the summer of 2007 with scorn.
You know, that summer Darcy Regier let Danny Briere and Chris Drury leave via free agency, essentially destroying a team that'd won the President's Trophy the year before. While Regier's moves were unpopular (and that's a major understatement), there was a little bit of logic behind them...
Can Tyler #2 be a #1 center?
By now, you should all know that I hate talking about young Sabres. I don't wanna talk about Tropp or Foligno (OK, he has 3 goals in like 4 games. So, I'm kind of stoked) or Weber or anyone who has been in the league for less than two years. Sorry, Kris Baker, but when you talk about how some 20-year-old currently playing in Rochester or some place in Canada I've never...
Sabres-Lightning Preview
The Buffalo Sabres have missed out on chances to boost their playoff hopes in each of the past two games, but could have a better opportunity to help themselves in their next one against a struggling opponent.
The visiting Sabres, though, have yet to earn a point against the Tampa Bay Lightning this season and will try to avoid getting swept in the season series for the first time...
