After retiring after the 2009-2010 season, former St. Louis Blues forward Keith Tkachuk has stuck around the St. Louis area.
"Walt," as friends often refer to him, can be seen around Scottrade Center every now and again watching his former teammates. Tkachuk likely stays around the hockey atmosphere because he was such an outstanding hockey player to begin with.
So outstanding that the Tkachuck was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame, joining Gary Suter, Chris Chelios, Ed Snider and Mike "Doc" Emrick in the 2011 class.
The honor should come as no surprise to anybody, except for Tkachcuk.
"I get pretty nervous looking at the guys next to me. I'm just blessed. I have a lot of people around me that helped me along the way."
