from David Staples of the Edmonton Journal, Mark Spector of Sportsnet and the Team 1260 had Los Angeles Kings GM Dean Lombardi on his radio show this afternoon.
The top of Lombardi’s complaint about the Oilers trading him an injured Colin Fraser for Ryan Smyth this past July came up.
“I apologize to Edmonton, and the NHL. I was wrong, the way I handled that,” Lombardi told Spector.
What had Lombardi done wrong?
The Mulletgate issue started up soon after the Smyth trade was announced.
The Oilers reported to Lombardi that Fraser had a broken foot, but the advice from their Oilers team doctors was that it was healing well and Fraser would promptly be able to resume full training.

The old KC Scouts are in town tonight.Steve Tambellini could help this team by adding a veteran defenseman now. I understand the hope is that Ryan Whitney...

Nikolai Khabibulin got the starting role for his birthday present, but after allowing 3 goals on 14 shots, Devan Dubnyk...

Love Bill Murray as regular visitors here know. Love his work but love the stories of him showing up at random gatherings even more. Cool cool guy. Waiting for him to show up at my door one night, preferably with some cigarettes and steaks, and we'll hang out on the back deck drinking good beer and scotch, shooting the ****. And Bill, if you're reading this, bring me a puppy...
The Kings breathed a collective sigh of relief Friday. Anze Kopitar, leveled by a big hit from Dallas’ Brenden Morrow the night before, appeared to be (relatively) fine and isn’t expected to miss any further game action.
With two-thirds of the Oilers' Lottery Line on the shelf with injury, the Edmonton Oilers, long compilers of young talent thanks to a five-year playoff absence, are turning to another youngster to help fill the void.
