According to russianmachineneverbreaks.com, Kuznetsov spoke to Sports Express reporter Mikhail Zislis restating that he’ll spend one more season in Russia before heading across the pond to play for the Capitals in 2014.  ”I have decided for myself to spend the next year in Russia and then go to the NHL.” Amid rumors of a trade from his hometown Traktor Chelyabinsk to Dynamo Moscow, Kuznetsov spoke to Zislis and told him “I’m planning to spend the next 365 days with Traktor. Don’t belive anything else.” Traktor had already traded 2013 NHL Draft prospect Valery Nichushkin (who some experts have going as high as 5th overall to Carolina come June) and rumors had spread that Kuznetsov would be next. But as mentioned earlier, they’re merely rumors. “There are people who like to talk about everything, but they can write whatever” Kuznetsov says.   A 1st round pick of the Capitals in 2010, Kuznetsov finished the 2012-2013 KHL Season with 44 points (19 goals, 25 assists) in 51 games and added another 11 points (5 goals 6 assists) in 25 playoff games  where Traktor finished runner-up to  Dynamo Minsk.
