The Lightning appeared to have Monday’s game against Pittsburgh won. However, bad decisions ultimately did them in as they lost to the Penguins 4-3. Trailing 1-0 after the first period, the Lightning would get two goals from Steven Stamkos and Tom Pyatt. Later in the period, goalie Mathieu Garon would suffer a leg injury and would be replaced by Anders Lindback. But in the third, things fell apart. A goal by Penguins’ Evgeni Malkin after splitting two Lightning defenders and a goal from a Sidney Crosby one-timer after defenders were flopping to the ice allowed the Pens to take the lead 3-2. One more goal by Pittsburgh sealed the deal for the Penguins. The Bolts play New Jersey Tuesday evening. The post Lightning collapse in the third in loss to Penguins appeared first on The Bay Cave.
