TAMPA, Fla. -- The NHL recognized Marty St. Louis' historic week. The Tampa Bay Lightning winger was named the league's first star Monday, after he scored five goals and recorded eight points for the week ending Sunday. St. Louis started the stretch with points in each of his first three games, with assists against the Columbus Blue Jackets last Monday and the New York Rangers on Tuesday before a goal against the New York Islanders on Thursday. On Saturday against the San Jose Sharks, St. Louis tied a franchise record with four goals (three in the first period). He closed the week with one assist against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday. St. Louis, 38, leads the Lightning with 25 goals and 50 points. He owns an eight-game point streak, the league's longest active run. The four goals on Saturday matched former center Chris Kontos' output from Tampa Bay's first regular-season game on Oct. 7, 1992, against the Chicago Blackhawks.
