The Lightning dropped their third straight after losing 4-1 to the New York Rangers on Thursday night. New York outshot Tampa Bay 42-25 for the game but the big story was the 20-3 shot advantage the Rangers had after the first period. However, the Lightning managed to stay in the game after Martin St. Louis scored the Bolts only goal on the night in the first period to make it 2-1 after one. Main reason for the loss was New York’s goaltender Henrik Lundqvist as he faced 26 shots and stopped 25 of them. Lightning goaltender Mathieu Garon did everything he possibly could have to keep the Bolts in the game. He saved 38 of 42 shots but the Lightning defense could not stop New York from taking shots. The Lightning hope to turn things around quickly as they have three games left on this road trip: Boston, Pittsburgh, and New Jersey.
