For the third in four years, a Wisconsin men's hockey player has been selected as the captain of the U.S. National Junior Team for the 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation Junior World Championships. Sophomore defenseman Jake McCabe, a Wisconsin native, has been selected to captain this year's United States squad that will open up tournament play against Germany on Dec. 27 in Ufa, Russia. His teammate and fellow defenseman John Rammage wore the "C" for team U.S.A. two seasons ago, while former Badger Derek Stepan was appointed team captain for the Americans in 2010. Stepan's team claimed the gold in 2010 and Ramage's the bronze in 2011.  McCabe, a second-round pick of the Buffalo Sabres in the 2012 NHL draft,currently has two goals and seven assists in 16 games for the Badgers this season.
