MONTREAL - The Minnesota Wild have signed Charlie Coyle, one of the key prospects they got from San Jose in the Brent Burns trade last summer, to a three-year entry-level contract, general manager Chuck Fletcher announced this morning. Coyle, 19, has 12 goals and 12 assists in 16 games for the St. John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He joined the team after leaving Boston University and could join Houston if the Aeros' season runs longer than the Sea Dogs'. Coyle's contract doesn't start until next season, but he could join Houston on an amateur tryout deal at the end of this year. Coyle joins a group of prospects possibly headed to the team's system within the next few months. Jonas Brodin, the Wild's 2011 first-round pick, has signed a three-year deal with the team, as have forward Brett Bulmer and defensemen Zack Phillips and Johan Larsson.
