Montreal Canadiens General Manager, Marc Bergevin, has pounded the gavel and made yet another transaction making his mark once again.
The Canadiens traded forward Erik Cole to the Dallas Stars in exchange for former Habs forward Michael Ryder and a third round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Cole leaves a passionate city that adored his presence during the first year of his contract, and makes his way to the Stars who are currently sitting eighth in the western conference. Dallas Stars General Manager, Joe Nieuwendyk, later released a statement about the trade.
“Erik Cole is a top-six, power forward who skates well, adds size, and is under contract for the next two years.”
The 34-year-old power forward leaves Montreal with three goals, six points in 19 games played.
