In support of #Sandy victims, I am auctioning off my helmet. I will post all details on Monday instagr.am/p/RlBAiWCrVR/

For most NHL goalies, the mask is practically like a child — not only a perfectly fit piece of equipment, but custom-designed to show up their personality.
Well, New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist decided some causes are more important than equipment, as he’s donating his mask — along with other equipment — for an auction to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. Lundqvist tweeted about his intentions on Sunday, and by Monday his pads, blocker and glove had shown up on the website for Steiner Sports.
The non-mask items began at $3,500 and will increase by $250 increments, and the bidding will be open for another 20 days.
