Clutterbuck, then a rookie who played in just two games, didn't get to play in Minnesota's last playoff appearance in 2007-08 and has never had the chance to feel the playoff atmosphere...
The Minnesota Wild have called up Carson McMillan from the Houston Aeros, general manager Chuck Fletcher announced Friday.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound forward has scored 18 points while recording a plus-4 rating in 64 games with the Aeros and is currently tied for third in the AHL scoring three shorthanded goals. The 24-year-old native of Manitoba made his NHL debut with the Wild in...
Nominations for the Masterton Trophy are still pouring in from around the NHL. Despite the fact we aren't even sure which men will be on the final ballot, there's already a clear favorite for this year's trophy. We wish a big "good luck" to this year's nominees as Minnesota's Josh Harding is the clear favorite to take home some hardware.
from Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal,
The chances of the Oilers actually digging in and beating the Wild in Minny are slender, to say the least, where they’ve only lost 19 of the last 20 to the Wild, outscoring the Oilers 69-32. Yeah, 19 of 20. Where Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom is 17-0 against them at the Xcel Energy Center, with a 1.34 average, a .948 save percentage...
ST. PAUL, Minn. The Minnesota Wild took care of their end of the deal Tuesday night by beating the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings in a hard-fought game.
Now, the Western Conference could help Minnesota secure its first playoff berth in five years before the Wild even play again.

"The Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy is an annual award under the trusteeship of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association and is given to the National Hockey League player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey."

With time winding down in the third period, the Minnesota Wild held a narrow 2-1 lead over the Los Angeles Kings. Kings defenseman Slava Voynov had a chance with 14 seconds left and Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom made a diving save to keep the lead. Backstrom actually missed the puck with his glove and his flailing leg hit the puck at the last second. It was a huge win for the...
ST. PAUL, Minn. Los Angeles Kings forward Dustin Brown was suspended two games for elbowing Minnesota Wild forward Jason Pominville in Tuesday's 2-1 Minnesota victory, according to a tweet from Los Angeles Times reporter Lisa Dillman.
During the second period Sunday, Brown had the puck near the side boards and saw Pominville closing in. As Pominville approached, Brown turned...
The Minnesota Wild looked like they were going to miss the postseason for the fifth straight year following a terrible start to April.
A clutch win over the defending Stanley Cup champions, though, has Minnesota on the verge of returning to the playoffs.
The Wild only need to beat Edmonton at home Friday night or win at Colorado on Saturday to secure a playoff berth, and the Oilers...
Charlie Coyle and Cal Clutterbuck scored 16 seconds apart late in the first period, helping the Minnesota Wild break their five-game home losing streak and hang on for a critical 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night.

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By DAVE CAMPBELL AP Sports Writer The time on the scoreboard was ticking toward zero. The Minnesota Wild were clinging to a one-goal lead the Los Angeles Kings weren't ready to give up on.
Kings defenseman Slava Voynov signaled to a teammate on the other side he was open, corralled a perfect through-the-slot pass at the far edge of the right circle and...
A few years ago, the motto for the football team I coach was "One Shot". "One Shot" was meant to represent all of the times in a person's life where you get one chance to succeed. A job interview, an important project, maybe a first date. The lesson is you want to prepare yourself mentally, physically and emotionally to execute a plan and be successful...

Just having a little look at the standings and the games remaining. Hard to believe the NHL regular season will come to an end this weekend.
Oilers have two remaining games, and should lose both. Please, lose both. They play against the Minnesota Wild in Minnie and that's always death. Then, they play at home against Vancouver, which is a game they could win, so they should...
