The New York Islanders, the lowest scoring team in the Eastern Conference (140) will get a good look at what Casey Cizikas can do in the NHL.
Casey Cizikas will debut for the New York Islanders on Friday against the New York Rangers.
Last year’s Mississauga St. Michael’s Major, and a prospect of the Islanders, who has spent this season with the Bridgeport Sound Tiger, will finally get his calling tomorrow, when the Isles host the New York Rangers.
Depending on how much playing time Cizikas can get, expect him to help create scoring chances with his passing game.
Cizikas, Bridgeport’s centreman and lead points scorer, has 15 goals and 29 assists in 51 AHL games.
Optimists believe that the former World Juniors star for Team Canada, and the OHL, will be a good shot in the arm, and a much-needed contribution, even if he puts up eight points the remainder of the season.
Will he find his strides this season? If so, at least the Isles will be able to prepare this youngster for a promising NHL career.
