Men’s Health Magazine, my favorite publication to pick-up for workout tips, and end up never even using them, smh. Anyway the magazine recently teamed with New York Rangers fashlete Henrik Lundqvist, for an informative feature, as Henrik styles us with a couple of fashionable pieces we can wear for our daily routines. Be comfortable, but yet still chic for that great workout. Check out a preview below, Click to read full feature. “Just because they’re going to the gym, a lot of guys wear old T-shirts that look like they’ve been lying in the closet for 15 years,” Lundqvist says. That’s not him. “My workout clothes have to work.”  – Henrik Lundqvist

Winnipeg Jets fans could be heard taunting New York Rangers head coach John Tortorella with a "Tortorella" chant during the third period of the Jets' 3-1 win over the Rangers Thursday night. The win put the Jets in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, two points ahead of the Rangers. Video via NHL.com. H/T PD. Visit us at holdoutsports.com and follow...

The Rise and Fall of Marian Gaborik

On July 1st 2009 Marian Gaborik signed for the New York Rangers after spending his entire NHL career with the Minnesota Wild. Gaborik a talented skater and a devastating finisher was plagued with injuries whilst with the Wild. Gaborik during the 2009-2010 season repaid the Rangers organisation by scoring 42 points and 86 over 76 [...]

Can't Get Worse For Gaborik Who Is Available for a Trade

It's been unfortunate to watch a 40-goal scorer like Marian Gaborik struggle to find the back of the net this season. And last night in Winnipeg might have been rock bottom when he could barely get a shot off during a penalty shot and did this afterward... Meanwhile, Pierre LeBrun at ESPN.com reports that although the Rangers aren’t necessarily shopping Gaborik, he’s...

Goal Breakdown: Rangers stink it up in Pittsburgh

Well, the Rangers got dominated in Pittsburgh today. We can’t even say it was unexpected. The Rangers were absolutely dominated in the first period to the tune of a -24 Corsi (33 shot attempts for Pittsburgh, 9 for the Rangers). It was a miracle that the Rangers were only down a goal in the first, mostly due to the play of Henrik Lundqvist. That said, the entire team –including...

Rangers Talked Gaborik Trade With Vancouver; Interested in Perry?

During a segment on Hockey Night In Canada's "Hot Stove Tonight," Elliotte Friedman says that the Rangers might have discussed a potential trade for Marian Gaborik with the Vancouver Canucks, but it wasn't a good match. Friedman adds that as part of his limited no trade clause Gaborik has given the Rangers 10 teams he cannot be traded to. Here's the...

Around the Farm: Thursday/Friday roundup

I had eye surgery on Friday, so I was unable to get the ATF yesterday. This post will cover all games played by the Rangers prospects on Thursday night and Friday night. Today’s (Saturday’s) games will be covered tomorrow, as per usual. The playoffs –or playoff type scenarios– have begun for almost all of the Rangers prospects. Oscar Lindberg and Jesper Fasth have begun their...

Rangers’ Struggle Continues As Penguins Cruise To Eighth Straight Win

After dropping the first two meetings on home ice, the New York Rangers tried their luck on the road in Pittsburgh for a matinee affair with the division leading Penguins.  Pittsburgh is currently riding a seven game winning streak and is tied with the Montreal Canadiens for the top spot in the Eastern Conference with 40 [...]

Jets Soar Past Rangers; Take Over Final Playoff Spot in East

The New York Rangers and Winnipeg Jets hooked up for the second time this season, tied with twenty-eight points for the Eastern Conference’s final playoff spot.  The Rangers, coming off a lackluster 3-1 loss Tuesday night in Buffalo, took on the Jets, winners of three of their last four, including a 5-2 home win Tuesday night [...]

Rangers 0, Penguins 3

The Rangers fell to the Pittsburgh Penguins today by the score of 3-0. For a box score, click here. Observations: Little to no positives to take away from today's game... looked like a typical Rangers-Pens game to me.  If not for Hank, the Rangers are probably looking at a 4-0 deficit after one and possibly Glen Sather working the phones in a room somewhere, if...

Hurricanes-Rangers Preview

The New York Rangers aren't pointing fingers anywhere but at themselves for their slump, which has dropped them out of the Eastern Conference playoff picture. They'll attempt to get back on track Monday night by earning a sixth straight victory over a Carolina Hurricanes team trying to end its own skid that has it fighting to reclaim the Southeast Division's top spot...

Connecticut Whale 3, Springfield Falcons 2

By Wil Goldsholl Hartford, CT, March 17, 2013 - In the Connecticut Whale locker room on Saturday night, Jason Missiaen’s goaltending partner, Cam Talbot, gave a shout in passing, “There ya go, Mish! Big as a house!” The mild-mannered, six-foot-eight goaltender gave pause to flash a grin before continuing to praise his defense for help with rebounds and screens. The Chatham...

Connecticut Whale 3, Manchester Monarchs 0

By Wil Goldsholl Hartford, CT, March 16, 2013 - Six days’ rest proved key for the Connecticut Whale, as they picked up a critical 3-0 win over the Manchester Monarchs on Saturday night in Hartford. Manchester, sitting in the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference prior to the game, has not bested the Whale, who moved into a tie for seventh with the win, at the XL Center this...
