According to reports, the New York Islanders have re-signed defenseman Milan Jurcina to a one-year deal. Jurcina was acquired over the off-season by the Islanders, and he has stepped as a top defenseman for the team in the absence of Mark Streit.
Jurcina, 27, has played 19 games for the Islanders so far this season, scoring two goals and two assists for four points on the season. He has also amassed 12 penalty minutes in the 19 games.
