Captain Zach Parise and rookie Adam Henrique each tallied three points to power the Devils to victory over Tampa Bay on Monday night.

After dropping one at home to Montreal on Saturday Dec. 10, New Jersey bounced back with a 5-4 win over the (12-16-2) Tampa Bay Lightning.

Petr Sykora got the scoring going early for the Devils, netting one 28 seconds into the first period. Fourteen minutes in, New Jersey found themselves up by two after Dainius Zubrus scored on the power play, his ninth of the season.

New Jersey surrendered two goals within two minutes nearing the end of the first period to draw to a 2-2 tie at intermission.   Steve Downie and Blair Jones were each credited with a goal in the first period for the Lightning.

The Devils dominated the second period, leading 5-2 at the second intermission. Ilya Kovalchuk, Parise, and Henrique all scored in the second, giving New Jersey a hefty lead heading into the final period.

Although the Lightning came roaring back in the third period, with Steven Stamkos scoring his 17th and 18th goals of the season, New Jersey held on for the victory.

With his three tallies, Henrique now ranks second among all NHL rookies in total points.

Johan Hedberg recorded 32 saves in a game in which both teams combined for 14 penalties, including six fighting majors.

On the night, New Jersey was 1-3 on power play opportunities, while Tampa Bay finished 1-5.

The Devils (15-13-1) are back in action tonight in Florida to take on the 16-9-5 Panthers at 7:30 p.m. (ET).
