Calgary Flames forward Rene Bourque has been suspended five games by the NHL for elbowing Washington's Nicklas Backstrom in the head. Bourque was given a minor penalty for elbowing Tuesday night for his hit on Backstrom at 10:06 of the third period of Calgary's 3-1 loss at Washington. Backstrom played two more shifts before leaving the game.
