Found January 26, 2013 on Hockey Fan Land:
Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun confirms the Edmonton Oilers have an interest in Ben Bishop, but the Ottawa Senators aren't ready to trade their current No.2 netminder yet.  Garrioch suggests the Senators may wait until the Vancouver Canucks first deal Roberto Luongo. At which point, the market for goaltending should swing in their favor. The HockeyFanLand Insight:This proves that the Edmonton Oilers brass is not sold on Devan Dubnyk carrying this team has number one goalie. Frankly, neither am I. Goaltending is the Edmonton Oilers trouble spot. However, is Ben Bishop really that much of an upgrade? He is a goalie with tremendous AHL accolades, but limited NHL experience. I would rather risk a blockbuster trade to get a household name. After all the goaltender  is the most important  asset  on a hockey club....

Oilers’ Yakupov scores late, slides in celebration

Check out the game-tying goal from last night’s Edmonton Oilers- Los Angeles Kings game. 19-year-old Nail Yakupov, the No.1 pick from this past year’s NHL Entry Draft and one of our Top 10 Breakout Candidates, scores with only 4.7 seconds left to knot the game at 1-1, and doesn’t hold back on the celebration, excitedly sprinting all the way out of the Kings’ zone and sliding...

Watch the video hereAs we all expected, Don Cherry was going to have some interesting comments on Nail Yakupov's crazy celebration from Thursday. Tonight, on Coach's Corner, Don Cherry told Nail Yaukpov, "LA is going to remember this, they will remember this 'till the dying day, that you don't do stuff like that." Then, while CBC played Theo Fleury's...

Is Nail Yakupov’s goal celebration over the top?

Check out this goal by Edmonton Oilers rookie forward Nail Yakupov. There is a school of thought that the NHL is starting to look like the European soccer leagues with some of the over the top celebrations of the players after they score a goal. I don't know what to think... I don't like showing up an opponent. I get it the kid is excited as well. Alexander Ovechkin...

Nail Yakupov Scores Dramatic Game-Tying Goal, Turns In Wild Celebration (Video)

The Edmonton Oilers were just seconds away from suffering another home defeat, this time to the Los Angeles Kings. With just a few seconds left, though, one of the game’s best young players scored a game-changing goal to tie things up. That’s where things got got fun. Was Yakupov's Celebration Too Much...???

((HT: Sportsnet.ca)) Here's the question of the day...??? Was the goal celebration of Edmonton Oilers rookie Nail Yakupov not enough, just enough, or too much...??? Considering it was a game-tying goal and not a game-winner... considering he's a rookie fresh off the Draft... Considering all of that stuff... The "Hockey Central" folks discuss... ...

Yakupov ties it, Gagner wins it - Oilers vs. Kings

Games like these are the reason I love hockey. After Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had his tying goal taken away from him with 1:05 remaining in the third, which also sparked the fans to chant "Bull Sh*t" and throw a Boston Pizza box onto the ice, the Oilers weren't going to give up, even if they were facing the defending Stanley Cup champions. With only four seconds remaining...

Travis Yost: Bolts Comeback Sinks Senators

Make sure to follow Travis on Twitter! -- Without veteran Craig Anderson between the crease, the Ottawa Senators knew they'd have to clean it up a bit defensively in order to take down a Tampa Bay Lightning team known for an electric offense. Final score? Tampa Bay 6, Ottawa 4. Mission failure. The two teams went full pond-hockey for all sixty minutes, trading scoring...

Penguins beat Ottawa in shootout

OTTAWA, Ontario -- The offensively dynamic Pittsburgh Penguins stopped their losing skid at two by playing a stellar defensive game Sunday. And they did so with a depleted blue line. Marc-Andre Fleury matched Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson save-for-save through 65 minutes -- then made one more stop than his opposite number in the shootout -- as the Penguins left Scotiabank...

A Different Look To The Battle Of Alberta

from Eric Duhatschek of the Globe and Mail, These are not your father’s Edmonton Oilers, this swashbuckling young team, and for proof, consider the father of Thursday night’s scoring hero, Sam Gagner. Gagner was 7 the year his dad, Dave, played for the Flames. Dave Gagner was Jarome Iginla’s first centre in Iginla’s rookie season and helped him find his way in the NHL...

Young Edmonton Oilers must build on big win over Los Angeles Kings

Thursday night’s epic win over the defending Stanley Cup Champions Los Angeles Kings, was one of the most thrilling endings to a NHL game I have ever seen in my life. The Edmonton Oilers pulled off a miracle tying the game with 1.11 to play, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored to make it a 1-1 game. But wait the referees who had been making bizarre calls all night, catch Sam Gagner for...

By: Miranda Martin Miranda@prednecknation.com The day after a 10-game showcase around the league Thursday night, people are still talking about Edmonton Oilers Nail Yakupov’s goal. But it wasn’t the beautiful goal that tied the score in the final seconds of the game versus the LA Kings that fans are talking about. Instead, people are talking about Yakupov’s rink slide celebration ...
