Edmonton Oilers prospect Brandon Davidson is receiving treatment for testicular cancer. Davidson, a 21-year-old defenseman, had begun his first season with Oklahoma City in the American Hockey League. He had one assist in six games before he received the diagnosis. The Barons announced that Davidson is a patient at the Peggy and Charles Stephenson Cancer Center at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City. "He's a strong kid," Barons coach Todd Nelson said, according to the Oilers' website. "He's a fighter, he has a great demeanor about himself and you know what, he's going to overcome this." Davidson acknowledged his medical situation Thursday via Twitter: "Thanks to all my family, friends, fans, and everyone for all the love and support. It goes a long way.
