It has been quite a week for the Bruins. Thomas taught Miller how to take contact in a game and not be a whiny *****.Benoit Pouliot showed up to help the Bruins beat the Devils into submission. So really it is no surprise that after winning six games in a row coming into Thursday night's game and having a busy week that the effort wasn't quite there. This game was a snore fest for the most part. Few exchanges here and there that were awesome but for the most part both teams just didn't seem into it. Well the Bruins didn't seem into it. The Blue Jackets just suck. Seriously. What an awful, awful team. Poor Rick Nash is wasting away in Columbus. Dude would be better off in Florida and that is saying something. After the jump..... Tuukkamania is running wild, McQuaid has mullet power, Shawn Thornton is pissed and Columbus really, really sucks......  - We know this has nothing to do with the game but we're super excited that the Bruins are apparently the bad guys ...

Bruins D Chara not charged for hit on Pacioretty

Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara will not face criminal charges for his brutal hit on Montreal Canadiens left wing Max Pacioretty during a game in March. Pacioretty suffered a severe concussion and a fractured vertebra in the altercation, which left the Connecticut native unconscious when his head was slammed into a metal support post along the glass. "After carefully examining...

Fallout from L’Affaire Lucic.

Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic’s hit on Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller on November 12th, and its subsequent handling by the NHL, elicited strong feelings from fans and pundits, not just in Boston and Buffalo, but around the league. To recap, during the first period of said game, Lucic was heading into the Sabres zone on a partial breakaway when he lost control of the...

Rask Carries B’s Past Columbus In Shootout Win

The Bruins improved to 5-0 on their home stand with an ugly victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Garden tonight. Tuukka Rask was stellar, making 30 saves on 31 Columbus shots. Derek MacKenzie deflected a Nikita Nikitin slap shot past Rask for the first goal of the game, 2:49 into the second period. Boston responded at 4:24 when Adam McQuaid’s shot ricocheted off of some...

So, Dave Grohl Hung Out With Some Boston Bruins Players On Wednesday (Photos)

Why? I cannot say. The Foo Fighters did perform on Letterman’s show on Tuesday night (with Joan Jett, of all people), but that does not explain why Dave Grohl was at TD Garden on Wednesday evening, especially given the Bruins were not playing on that particular evening and the next scheduled date on the Foo [...]

Bruins 'Lucky' to Come Away With Win Over Blue Jackets to Finish Off Perfect Homestand

Five games, five wins. The Bruins have gotten themselves back into Eastern Conference contention with a perfect homestand, but the final leg of that five-game stretch didn't come easy. The B's got by the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night, but the common feeling was that Boston was "lucky" to come away with a strongly contested shootout win at TD Garden...

Rask sticks with it

After he backstopped the Bruins to a 2-1 shootout victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets last night at TD Garden, Tuukka Rask, being a bit superstitious, was asked if he would make it a practice to slam his stick against the crossbar in practice before his starts, as he had done Wednesday.

Bruins win 7th straight, top Blue Jackets in SO

Tuukka Rask made 30 saves through overtime and then stopped Columbus' Antoine Vermette in the shootout as the Boston Bruins beat the Blue Jackets 2-1 on Thursday night for their seventh straight win.

Bruins Live Blog: B's Look to Avoid Trap Game, Try to Close Out Perfect Homestand Against Struggling Blue Jackets

8 a.m. ET: The Bruins have a chance to win their seventh straight game and close out a perfect five-game homestand on Thursday. And on paper they have the perfect opponent for such a quest, as Columbus comes in with the worst record in the league by far. But the Bruins are trying their best not to take the Blue Jackets lightly. "It's a dangerous game," Bruins coach...

Six In A Row For Bruins

After their horrific start to the season, the Bruins have gotten red-hot, winning their last six games, and averaging just under six goals a game during that stretch. The Bruins got a OT goal from Benoit Pouliot to beat the New Jersey Devils 4-3 at the Garden last night. Bruins score three in third, beat Devils, 4-3 – The game story from Joe Haggerty and Jessica Camerato...
