It was announced earlier today that Jay Pandolfo would miss the next 4-6 weeks due to a broken foot. The injury was sustained on Saturday afternoon during the Islanders matinee game against the New Jersey Devils He blocked a shot from Devils defensemen Mark Fayne. ***** Newsday’s Arthur Staple reports that Nino Niederreiter will be back in the Islanders lineup tomorrow night against the Buffalo Sabres. Niederreiter was apparently told in advance that he’d be out a full week to “work on his conditioning and learn what he needs to do by watching.” A situation that was similar to what the team did with Kyle Okposo.
