Our good friend Patrick Hoffman of PowerScout Hockey takes a look at the reemergence of New York Rangers defensemen Michael Del Zotto. In 34 games this season, the 21-year-old Rangers’ defenseman has 4 goals and 17 assists for 21 points. That is tops for Blueshirts’ defenseman and 15th in the NHL in defensemen scoring. What is [...]
HBO’s 24/7 series for the NHL Winter Classic rolled along last night with the inside look at the Rangers ugly sweater Christmas party. The highlight was obviously this reindeer 3-way sweater worn by defenseman Michael Del Zotto, who’s just 21-years-old. We keep hearing NY & Philly bloggers raving about this show because there are lots of f-bombs and reindeer three-ways....
SUNRISE, Fla. -- When Michael Del Zotto’s stick ended up getting into the face of Tomas Kopecky with 10 seconds left in last night’s 4-1 Rangers’ win, it looked like a hard hockey play. It was certainly a crosscheck, and a high one at that, but a hockey...
NEW YORK—New York Rangers defenseman Michael Del Zotto and Florida Panthers forward Tomas Kopecky have been fined $2,500 apiece, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for their respective actions during an altercation in NHL Game No. 553 in Sunrise, Fla., on Friday, Dec.30, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
Florida Panthers right wing Tomas Kopecky and New York Rangers defenseman Michael Del Zotto were fined $2,500 apiece by the NHL on Saturday for their actions during the waning moments of Friday's contest.
Signed to a four-year, $12 million contract, Kopecky was not suspended by the league which ignited a very ugly incident at the end of the contest.
With 7.6 seconds remaining...
HBO’s 24/7 series has had many great moments already this season as it follows the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers as they prepare for the Winter Classic, but in my estimation, the appearance in Episode 3 of the above sweater, worn by Rangers defenseman Michael DelZotto at the team’s “Ugly Sweater” holiday party, has [...]
If you thought the New York Rangers' Friday night tilt with the Florida Panthers would be little more than a breezy tuneup for the Winter Classic, you thought wrong. While the Rangers would indeed open up a three-goal lead early and coast to a 4-1 victory, the game was certainly not without incident.
Tensions erupted with the Panthers' net empty late in the third period,...
If you've yet to see it, take a quick peek at the "altercation" from Friday night's tilt between the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers that, as the NHL announced Saturday afternoon, has drawn matching $2500 fines for Michael Del Zotto and Tomas Kopecky .
The offenses? A crosscheck to the back of the head courtesy Del Zotto, followed by a blatant sucker punch...
New York Rangers defenseman Michael Del Zotto, Florida Panthers forward Tomas Kopecky and Phoenix Coyotes forward Raffi Torres were fined $2,500 by the National Hockey League on Saturday for separate incidents.
With 8 seconds left during the Rangers 4-1 win over the Panthers.

PHILADELPHIA — A year ago the Pittsburgh Penguins' Jordan Staal came back from injury just in time for the Winter Classic. This year, brother Marc likely won't be so lucky. Only recently cleared for contact after a lengthy battle with post-concussion syndrome, New York Rangers defenseman Marc Staal will be ...
