Zach Parise has called off contract extension talks for now.
Parise is not interested in talking extension at this point in the season. He is expected to become an unrestricted free agent if an extension can not be reached.
Parise is expected to become a free agent on July 1st. The team is not willing to trade Parise prior to the February 27th trade deadline.
The Devils would like to have Parise down the stretch and into the playoffs. Right now, they are in fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
The team has a record of 31-19-4.
