As the NHL season concludes its final week of the regular season, it is time to start debating some award winners. On Tuesday, Billy Jaffe, Dale Arnold and Barry Pederson debated as to which coaches and players would take home hardware at the conclusion of the season. The Jack Adams trophy has a clear-cut favorite according to The Instigators, and Patrice Bergeron deserves strong consideration for the Selke award as well. The Calder Trophy winner could also be a surprise. Check out the video above to see Billy, Dale and Barry make their picks for this year’s NHL awards.

Claude Julien’s Critical Comments Show Quick Reverse in Course As Bruins’ Struggles Continue

The Bruins look like they’re in trouble right now, and Boston head coach Claude Julien looks to be giving one last-ditch effort to fire up his struggling club. The B’s lost 5-2 Tuesday night in Philadelphia in an ugly showing in which the club was sloppy in just about every facet of the game. The Bruins should have been able to take advantage of a Flyers team that had little...

Bruins Fans Anxiously Waiting to Find Out Who Team’s First-Round Playoff Opponent Will Be (Video)

The Bruins are headed to the postseason, but who they meet there is anybody’s guess at the moment. With teams still scrambling for the final few tickets to the playoff dance, not to mention the Bruins and Canadiens (and maybe even the Maple Leafs) fighting for the Northeast division, the final postseason picture is a big jumble heading into the final few games. NESN Nation’s...

Happy Earth Day! Here's Video of Shawn Thornton Hugging a Tree

We all know Alternate Captain Planet Andrew Ference is the greenest ************ on the face of the earth. And we know Shawn Thornton is a lover. But we didn't know Shawn's love extends to trees as well. Video was tweeted out by the one and only Andrew Ference himself. We have Alternate Captain Planet t-shirts in Mens and Womens for those who want to be...

Bruins Struggles Continue in Philly

As has become a strange trend over the course of the last week, the Bruins were treated to yet another heartwarming tribute to the victims and armed forces in light of the Boston Marathon bombings last week, and then went out and essentially laid an egg on the ice of the Wells Fargo Center.  With playoff hockey looming, the Boston Bruins have been on a slow nosedive in the wrong...

Grindin' Gears: Where We Find A Black And Gold Turd In The Punchbowl

This Bruins team had a hot start when the season started and carried it throughout February. Suddenly the calendar turned and everyone talked about how March was going to be a meat grinder. 17 games in 31 days (before snow storms, etc) and it would prove if this team was a contender or a pretender. Now we're at the end of the regular season and this team is still fighting...

Bruins Lose Another Dissapointing Game

The Bruins were defeated tonight by the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 in another disappointing show of effort. Things started off well for the Bruins as new defense man Wade Redden scored a goal to make it 1-1 in the first period. It was the second period when things went down hill for the Bruins. In 7 seconds the Philadelphia Flyers scored two goals. The second of the two goals wasn...

Jaromir Jagr’s Record-Tying Game-Winning Goal Against Panthers Is Captain Morgan Legendary Moment (Video)

Jaromir Jagr‘s career has long since passed into “legendary” territory, but the veteran added one more notch to his belt this past weekend. With his goal against the Florida Panthers on Sunday, Jagr tied Phil Esposito in the record books as the all-time leader in game-winning goals — and any time that name is uttered around Boston, people take notice. Jagr’s record-tying...

Boston Slaps Around The Worst Team In The NHL. Congrats?

Quite the turn around from Saturday's game from Sunday's game - although that's not saying much because Florida is terrible. If Boston lost to Florida, they should have just given up their playoff spot to Winnipeg and headed to the link early. Lets be honest with ourselves in regards to this game - Florida isn't Pittsburgh and Florida has trouble keeping the...

Flyers 5, Bruins 2

Call it a win for the Flyers and Boston charities. Make it one blown opportunity for the Bruins to stand alone atop the Northeast Division. Matt Read and Oliver Lauridsen scored 7 seconds apart to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a 5-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night. The Bruins are second in the Eastern Conference and lead the division. But the Bruins and Montreal...

Lightning-Bruins Preview

The Boston Bruins have floundered down the stretch as they head into their sixth straight postseason appearance, with many of their missteps coming against teams out of playoff contention. They'll try to clean up their sloppy play against another opponent well behind them in the standings Thursday night as they host the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Bruins (27-13-5) sit second in...

Keys To The Game Vs. Philly- So Are We Jagr's Sloppy Seconds?

The Bruins face some tension today as they face one of Jagr's old teams the Philadelphia Flyers. Jagr has tried to avoid the drama though and didn't talk much to the Philly media. All he really said was that Philadelphia and Boston are a lot alike. Jagr said both cities know hockey and also know a lot about Baseball, Basketball, and Football. The Flyers are out of the playoffs...

Bruins Offense Propels Team in Win, Hope to Keep Momentum Heading Into Playoffs

The Bruins ended a trying week with a win over the Florida Panthers that meant as much for the city of Boston as it did for the team. The B’s are digging deep in the final week of the regular season to propel themselves into the playoffs. After four straight losses, the Bruins were finally able to get the result they wanted in hopes to lift the city up and give fans something to...
