The Nashville Predators continue to trudge along through their schedule without their star goaltender Pekka Rinne, who remains out after an infection was discovered in his hip. He has missed a couple of weeks so far and it still sounds like a return to the ice is still a good ways away after seeing the statement by the Predators on Sunday night. Pekka Rinne underwent a MRI earlier this week and he continues to progress in his recovery from a bacterial infection in his hip which was initially identified and addressed with arthroscopic hip surgery on October 24. There have been no setbacks -- and we and the doctors are thankful they have identified the infection -- so now it is simply a matter of time for recovery and allowing treatment to take its course. Pekka will remain on crutches and antibiotics for at least the next couple weeks before a follow-up MRI in late November. We expect a full and complete recovery and will provide additional updates when appropriate.

Coincidental or not, Preds struggle without Filip Forsberg

He may share a team-worst plus/minus rating, he may average less than 12 minutes of ice time a game and he may have only one point at even strength but, somehow, Filip Forsberg positively impacts the Nashville Predators. When the 19-year old Swedish phenom is in the lineup, the Preds are 8-2-1 this season. Without him? A putrid 0-5-1. Forsberg has missed time due to injury, has been...

Maturity helps Predators' Jones navigate life as rookie

Rookie defenseman Seth Jones has had his share of ups and downs this season. That's expected of a 19-year-old player not accustomed to the wear and tear of a full season in the National Hockey League. Make no mistake, there have been more positive moments than forgettable ones for Jones, but even he felt his demotion to the third defensive pair in a loss to the Winnipeg Jets...

Patten’s Plus-Minus: Nashville Predators at Winnipeg Jets

The best and worst from Nashville’s 5-0 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night. Mazanec’s save percentage in the game was a very respectable .917. Unfortunately, he was handed a three-goal deficit to start with....

Devils Blank Preds 5-0

It certainly is a welcomed feeling to watch the Devils dismantle a team from beginning to end. Something clicked for NJ in their 5-0 beatdown to the Nashville Predators. They got on the board early and kept putting pucks in the net. The Devils put 5 pucks past the Preds and did so with 5 different goal scorers (Jagr, Arnott, Zidlicky, Zajac and Tedenby). Zubrus had another beautiful...
