Rookie goalie Petr Mrazek will be back between the pipes on Sunday evening against the Minnesota Wild, MLive’s Ansar Khan reported. Mrazek made his NHL debut in a win over the St. Louis Blues on Feb. 7, then sat as Jimmy Howard made four consecutive starts — Detroit went 2-1-1 in that span, culminating in a 5-2 loss to Anaheim on Friday.
Mrazek stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced in St. Louis, as the Wings pulled away for a convincing 5-1 win.
Also of note from Khan’s Saturday update: Pavel Datsyuk says he is “50-50″ to return to the lineup in Minnesota. Datsyuk sat out Friday’s game with what the Wings called an “upper-body injury” — he revealed Saturday that he’s dealing with a bruised shoulder.
The Wings will get Mikael Samuelsson back from his groin injury, after he missed 12 consecutive games. To make room for him in the lineup, the Red Wings reassigned Gustav Nyquist to Grand Rapids. Nyquist suited up for Detroit on Friday night.
