Fox - The Hockey Guy:
The streaking Pittsburgh Penguins loaded up by trading for power forwards Jarome Iginla and Brenden Morrow before the NHL trade deadline. They also added physical defenseman Douglas Murray. But that additional firepower could be offset by the loss of offensive defenseman Paul Martin to an unspecified broken upper body bone. He will miss the rest of the regular season and the start of the Stanley Cup playoffs as well. With offensive defenseman Kris Letang (upper body injury) also on injured reserve, the Penguins are scrambling to assemble three viable pairings. Martin and Letang are quarterbacks on the mighty Pittsburgh power play and key players at even strength.
Letang could return within a week or two.For now, coach Dan Bylsma is going with Matt Niskanen on the top pairing with workhorse Brooks Orpik. Mark Eaton is teaming with Murray and Deryk Engelland is playing with rookie Simon Despres.“That will kind of be the way it looks," Bylsma told Pittsburgh reporters. “But also . ....

Sidney Crosby has a broken jaw and is out indefinitely after being hit in the mouth with a puck during a win against the New York Islanders on Saturday.
The Pittsburgh Penguins said on the team website Sunday that Crosby had surgery Saturday night. There will be an update on his status later in the week, the Penguins said.
Crosby, the NHL's leading scorer, was struck in the...
Just when everything seemed to be running smoothly in Pittsburgh (long winning streak, three new additions including Jarome Iginla), a Brooks Orpik slapper deflected off a stick and struck Sidney Crosby in the face.
Be warned. The video below will make you cringe as an unsuspecting Crosby takes a puck right to the mouth.
Crosby was able to leave the ice, but was...

After scoring more than 500 goals in Calgary, Jarome Iginla just wants to fit in with Sidney Crosby and the streaking Pittsburgh Penguins.
The former Flames captain, acquired early Thursday in Pittsburgh's latest blockbuster trade, made his Penguins debut Saturday against the New York Islanders.
Pittsburgh was looking for its 15th straight victory, which would be two shy of...
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Rob Rossi reports that Sidney Crosby had significant oral surgery, but is suffering no concussion symptoms:

Man that was a pretty heavy title.
The Pens are down a top blue line prospect what with Joe Morrow being dealt for non-related Stars captain Brenden Morrow. We say "down" in only a certain sense, as the pipeline still holds Simon Despres, Robert Bortuzzo, Scott Harrington, Brian Dumoulin, Olli Maaty and Derrick Pouliot.
Well one of those prospects, Scott Harrington...
Ron MacLean of HNIC chatted with Jarome Iginla today via satellite after his first game with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Iginla discusses his first game with the Penguins and the trade process.
The Pittsburgh Penguins overcame a bloody injury to Sidney Crosby on Saturday for their 15th straight victory, beating the New York Islanders 2-0 in Jarome Iginla's debut behind third-period goals from Matt Cooke and James Neal.
Tomas Vokoun made 35 saves as Pittsburgh moved within two wins of the NHL record of 17 straight victories set by Mario Lemieux and the 1992-93 Penguins...
The Bruins thought they had Jarome Iginla — then they didn’t.
After losing out on the longtime Calgary captain to the Pittsburgh Penguins — who had also previously acquired Brenden Morrow and Doug Murray — suggesting it’s panic time for the Bruins might not be too far off the mark. Nonetheless, the players that are actually on the team are staying focused, saying that they’re...
Goddamn. Jay Feaster is so incompetent at his job that now he's expanded business to Boston. Not only did he tell Chiarelli that the Bruins had Jarome Iginla, he also requested the Bruins sign that one-year contract with Matt Bartkowski so he'd be all contracted up for the Flames when the trade was finalized.
Matt Bartkowski confirmed his one-way contract was...
A lot of things happened on Saturday.
We got news of Paul Martin being out for 6 weeks.
Jarome Iginla announced he would play.
Sidney Crosby's teeth got destroyed by a slapshot and went to the hospital.
Chris Kunitz got kicked out and will be facing a suspension.
But of all those things, the top moment was Matt Cooke scoring the game-winning...
Peter Chiarelli stood in front of the Boston media Thursday afternoon looking like a tired and beaten man. In many ways, there were no better words to describe the Bruins general manager.
Hopefully for his own physical sake he got a little bit of shut-eye after that revealing news conference, but he doesn’t have much time to rest. But then again, there’s no rest for the weary...
Less than a week ago, Matt Bartkowski was thought to be headed for Calgary. The rookie defenseman was one of the Bruins prospects involved in the proposed trade for Flames star Jarome Iginla.
But Iginla opted to take his talents to Pittsburgh, so Bartkowski stayed put and on Sunday found his way onto the scoresheet for the first time. The 24-year-old assisted on David Krejci‘s...
