Milan Jurcina was a great addition to the New York Islanders blue-line, and should be a staple there for the next few seasons.

Jurcina was only able to play in 46 games this season, missing various stretches of the season for a variety of injuries.

If he can stay healthy, Jurcina can be a top line or second line defenseman, and at 27 years old he would bring a bit of experience to that group.

Jurcina finished off the season with four goals and 13 assists, to total 17 points. He was also minus four, which isn’t bad at all for a team that finished last in their division.

The Islanders were very successful as a team when Jurcina was healthy and in the line-up, as they went 24-15-7 when he was dressed.

Jurcina should be back and at 100 percent next season for the Islanders, and New York will count on him to play top notch defense.
