Adrian Dater There was a point tonight where I thought “there is no way in H E double hockey sticks the Avs are going to win tonight.” And then I thought at the end, “there is no way in H E double hockey sticks this game isn’t going to overtime.” The former was the case, of course. In the end, it was just another loss to the Calgary Flames. The under .500 Calgary Flames, who didn’t make the playoffs last season, are now 8-0 against Colorado in the last eight meetings. They are 10-1 in the last 11 against them. Ryan O’Reilly, who battled hard all night, took the loss hard as shown above. This game tonight was just like sooooo many others at home: bad start, good finish, not enough. I say bad start, but actually the Avs have seven of the game’s first nine shots. Trouble is, the only two the Flames had went in the net. Ryan Wilson and Erik Johnson were beaten up the middle by Paul Byron (who?), for the first goal of the game – his first of the year.
