John Leya, The Denver Post I don’t really know much else to say tonight. Covered a lot of games of the Burgundy and Blue over the years, so I guess this was just another 1-0 loss, one of those nights you get stoned by the other goalie and that’s that. Except, nobody who seriously follows the Avs is going to be deluded by their 37-21 shots advantage tonight. Sure, the Avs had the puck more, and play was in the Minnesota end of the ice a lot more. But what the Avs did during all that time in the Wild zone was, um, well, not much at all. Just a lot of perimeter shots that made for easy stops for Nicklas Backstrom. Everything was just all sanitized to the outside for the Avs, and they never really “crashed” the net much all night. It’s becoming as clear as the nose on Jamie Farr’s face: the Avs are too small up front. They can’t crash the net much at all, so they rarely get any loose-change, garbage rebound goals around the net. Coach Joe Sacco said he only had a “couple guys” who did...
