The Nashville Predators organization reflected on the 2011-2012 season and looked towards the off-season, Thursday Morning. David Poile, Barry Trotz and the rest of the group were disappointed with the season ending so soon, but it is something to build on.
Nashville's offseason is going to be a busy one. David Poile will be extremely busy signing, re-signing or trading players. Also, not to mention the NHL Draft is in late June.
Currently on the Nashville Predators' roster, there are fifteen free agents. There are eight restricted free agents (RFA) and seven unrestricted free agents (UFA). There are some big names on the list that Poile will need to re-sign at least a good number of them.
Find out who is an RFA or UFA after the jump.
RFAs: Shea Weber, Sergei Kostitsyn, Alexander Radulov, Anders Lindback, Colin Wilson, Jack Hillen and Jack MacLellan
UFAs: Ryan Suter, Hal Gill, Andrei Kostitsyn, Jordin Tootoo, Francis Bouillon, Brandon Yip, Paul Gaustad and Brian McGrattan
Who Will We Re-Sign?
I believe David Poile won't be re-signing Ryan Suter, Hal Gill, Jordin Tootoo, Andrei Kostitsyn, Brian McGrattan, Alexander Radulov. There are a few maybes though, like Anders Lindback, Colin Wilson and Jack Hillen.
There is no way Poile is going to want to have Andrei Kostitsyn and Alexander Radulov back in that locker room. Kostitsyn was a rental to win in the Stanley Cup anyways. And now that we all see the effect the KHL had on Alexander Radulov, I don't want him back. Radulov was nothing special. I felt like he was not buying in to the Barry Trotz style.
Radulov still has a contract to fulfill over in Russia for the KHL. So, I don't think he will be back with the Predators or in the NHL. So, if Radulov and A. Kostitsyn were both to leave, I say good riddance.
On Ryan Suter's situation, it is dificult for him. Suter wants to play where his family wants to live. It must be nice to have that luxury. Anyways, hopefully his young family will want to stay in Nashville and can play with the Predators.
Purely my two cents: Judging by Suter's tone, I wouldn't expect him to be back. Was getting semi emotional.
Since, Suter was getting a little emotional, you almost have to think he is sad about leaving Nashville. But who knows anymore? Suter could sign with the team before July 1, although I doubt it.
Looks like Jordin Tootoo could be leaving. Tootoo wasn't getting much playing time in the playoffs and was a bit angry about it. It will be unfortunate if Tootoo leaves because he is the fan favorite. This is a business people, things happen.
It was first thought that Brian McGrattan will be leaving because of his tweet. The "was" got people off guard.
wanna thank all the fans this year in smashville it was awesome playing here!!!
You have to love Twitter and speculation. Although, I see no way Poile re-signs him. Great guy, but wasn't used. Unfortunately, the injury and addition of more depth hurt his chances severely of returning to the lineup.
Here are some videos from the Nashville Predators TV website.

NASHVILLE – There is a long time between now and the free agent frenzy. Things can change in a heartbeat. But if you had to judge by Ryan Suter’s tone last night as to whether he’d re-sign with the Predators or not, it’s hard picturing him not testing free agency when July 1st rolls around.Dating back to the All-Star Game in January, Suter, who is set to become an unrestricted...

While the Nashville Predators face tremendous uncertainty this summer in terms of player personnel, Nashville Predators coach Barry Trotz told the Tennessean’s Joshua Cooper that, save the team’s second-round ouster against the Phoenix Coyotes, the team made great strides over the course of the 2011-2012 season and playoffs:

“I clearly believe we are in this window of opportunity. I really feel the foundation, the core of our team is as good as any team in the league.”
-David Poile, GM of the Nashville Predators. Read more on Nashville from Josh Cooper of The Tennessean,
I am somewhat stunned by the drastic turn of events with the Nashville Predators. Not just their two curfew delinquents in Alexander Radulov and Alexei Kostitsyn. But, their play in general in their series against the Los Angeles Kings and the new found sentiment that that this team that was astutely put together, might be on the verge of crumbling. Not only might Radulov and...
