Photo Source: Frederick Breedon, Getty Images The second week of NHL action was better for Nashville, but they still need work. They were 2-1, but only just scraped by in their two wins and got thoroughly trounced in their loss. They got their first win of the season on Tuesday in a game where they had the upper hand but allowed the opposition to stay close. Thursday was a no show against Bernier - who always seems to get the best of us - and a Leafs team who are off to a good start. The Preds second win of the year came on Saturday where they struggled to beat the Islanders.   Read the full play rankings below, and check out last weeks here. Player Position Rank Movement Short Description Seth Jones D 1 +2 What a week for Seth Jones! He got his first NHL assist in Tuesday's game against Minnesota and his first NHL goal on Saturday against NYI. He also lead the team in ice time twice. This kid if the real deal Mike Fisher C 2 -1 A good week for Fisher, despite a controversial call against the Leafs. Fisher got an assist and is tied for the lead in points. He is consistent regardless of his linemates Patrick Hornqvist RW 3 +3 Hornqvist got a goal and an assist this week, tying him with Fisher as point leader. Hornqvist has become a real pest on the powerplay by planting himself on the very top of the crease and being difficult to move David Legwand C 4 0 Legwand remains consistent. Picking up an assist on the Seth Jones goal. Legwand still sees good minutes, although a few less than last year Colin Wilson RW/C 5 +9 A good two point week for Wilson including a nice powerplay goal, the type that have eluded the Preds this season. Wilson needs to carry on the momentum.  Paul Gaustad RW/C 6 -1 Gaustad has been very solid of the fourth line, penalty kill and at the faceoff dot. No points this week, but he is justifying his place in the roster. (11/15 Faceoff Wins against the Islanders) Eric Nystrom RW 7 -5 A second strong week for Nystrom. He's a great worker. I really liked him on the line with Fisher, but he seems to do well with just about anyone Ryan Ellis D 8 +13 Scratched during the fisrt week of hockey, Ellis got a chance to play due to the Josi injury and did he ever make the most of it. Solid in the first two games (even +/-) and an Assist as well as a GWG against New York. I wonder if it will be enough to keep him dressed when Josi returns. He oddly leads the team in +/- Pekka Rinne G 9 0 A run of the mill week for Rinne. He was really good for a couple of periods against Minnesota but has been only above average in the other two games. Had a rough go against Toronto, but can't really be blamed for the score.  Filip Forsberg C/W 10 +12 Forsberg scored his first career goal in his first game of the season. He's looked really calm and composed for his age.  Craig Smith C/W 11 -3 It doesn't feel like Smith is giving the intensity that is required from him. He doesn't seem one with the puck yet, although he did get a point this week on a secondary assist to Ellis' goal Shea Weber D 12 +1  A -3 this week with one assist to his name, Weber just isn't the best player on the hockey team right now. He may not even be the best defenseman - but we'll need him to be. Worst on the team for +/- at -5. Nick Spaling RW/C 13 -5 I don't think Spaling deserved to be scratched, but I'm not the one he needs to impress. No points this week - although he's done a good job at offensive puck possession.  Matt Cullen C 14 +5 Some improvement for Cullen as he tallies his first two points with the Predators. Still not looking like a top line center. He seems slower than most players on the ice.  Carter Hutton G 15 -5 The Preds have a double header on the road next weekend. Hutton will likely take either the Saturday game in Montreal or Sunday's in 'The Peg'.   Victor Bartley D 16 -5 Bartley still looking good defensively, especially in what I think is considered his rookie season.  Mattias Ekholm D 17 -5 Ekholm has played well, but I think he is the likely candidate for the healthy scratch on Tuesday, if Josi does return.  Viktor Stalberg RW 18 +5 Only played 12 minutes in his first game of the Season for Nashville, but at least he was healthy enough to play. Hopefully Stalberg shows us what he's made of this week.  Kevin Klein D 19 -4 I'm not even a Klein hater and I think he's been bad so far this year. He's my vote for a healthy scratch, but we'll see what Trotz does. He did have a couple of nice offensive plays against the Leafs, I'll give him that much. Gabriel Bourque LW 20 -4 Scratched against the leafs, Bourque hasn't found a good rhythm yet. He doesn't seem to win many loose pucks and he gives up a few too many. Bourque needs some added tenacity to be productive this season. Rich Clune   21 -4 Clune was scratched on Saturday in the game where everyone was finally healthy. I fear Clune's playing minutes will be limited while the line-up is healthy.  Matt Hendricks C 22 -2 Hendricks took a double minor at the worst time against New York that could have allowed them to tie it up late. He's a -3, second worst on the team ... to the captain.  Roman Josi D 23 -5 Unfortunate recipient of a high hit, it looks like Josi will make a return this week. It would be a shame to break up Jones and Weber when Josi returns.
