Austin Watson, Daniel Bang and Mattias Ekholm have been reassigned to the Milwaukee Admirals Tuesday afternoon in the midst of a race to the American Hockey League playoffs. The Nashville Predators have a long break and will not be playing until Friday, April 12th. The Admirals are fighting for a playoff spot, but are currently ninth place two behind the Rockford Ice Hogs. Luckily, Milwaukee has two games in hand. There are only four games (including tonight's) remaining in the season as the Calder Cup Playoffs start April 22. According to SportsClubStats.com, the Ads have a 38.2% chance of making the postseason. This recall not only provides help to the Admirals, but it must also mean that Mike Fisher, Brandon Yip and Kevin Klein could be ready to go by Friday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks. However, it could also mean the Preds wanted to provide their farm with some skill to help them win against the Wolves and the three will return prior to Friday. Watson played in five games and was a -3, while fellow forward Bang performed in four, posting two assists. Ekholm, who was called up on emergency for Monday's game against Vancouver and  Another theory is the possibility of Nashville wanting to give others a try in the NHL. For instance, Ryan Ellis on defense and possibly Budish, Puustinen or Rask. This is unlikely, but with the Preds having nothing else to lose, it helps to throw out the question "Why not?".
