Red Mile:
The Calgary Flames have freed up some necessary cap space by trading forward Wayne Primeau to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for defenceman Anton Stralman and forward Colin Stuart. The Flames will receive Toronto's 7th round draft pick in 2012 and the Leafs will receive Calgary's 2nd round pick in 2011.The trade frees up approximately $1M of cap space for the Flames and brings in 2 young promising players while exfoliating an older, more expensive and less useful player that I have grown to 'unlike'. Don't get me wrong... I don't hate Primeau as a Flame like I hated Alex Tanguay... and I certainly don't hate him like I straight-up hate Anders Eriksson. But I'm glad to see Primeau go.At $1.4M Primeau certainly didn't pull his own weight. A total of 4 assists in 24 games doesn't amount to much offense. Yes, he did do well on Keenan's "energy line" and did his part to keep the other teams from scoring, but he's not worth hi...
