Los Angeles Kings netminder Jonathan Quick was a runaway winner of the NHL's first star award for last week after stringing together three straight shutouts, a franchise first.

Quick earned consecutive shutout wins over the St. Louis Blues, Phoenix Coyotes and Dallas Stars to become the first NHL netminder in three years to accomplish the feat.

In the process, the 25-year-old has a club record shutout streak of 188 minutes, 10 seconds and counting.

Quick will put his string of shutout hockey on the line Tuesday night against the visiting New Jersey Devils.

Quick is 5-0-1 for the season with a 0.81 goals-against average and .972 save percentage.

Ottawa Senators forward Jason Spezza was named second star after recording three goals and four assists in three games last week.

Washington Capitals netminder Tomas Vokoun earned third-star honors, allowing a total of three goals in three consecutive victories.
