According to a report by Larry Brooks of the New York Post, the New York Rangers' General Manager, Glen Sather has contacted David Poile about acquiring the rights of Alexander Radulov.

Sather is trying to find a replacement for Marian Gaborik, who could be out until December. Gaborik will undergo shoulder surgery.

Alexander Radulov's entry level deal is up and is a Restricted Free Agent. Since returning to the NHL, Radulov has scored four goals and added nine assists in seventeen NHL games.

Radulov still has a contract in the KHL with CKSA. So, Poile has absolutely nothing to lose. He is going to have a hard time keeping Radulov in Nashville with offers from other NHL and KHL clubs.

If Poile was able to make a deal with a team in the NHL, he and the Nashville Predators are going to win. No matter what. Poile is going to be getting some good offers to try and re-develop Radulov.

The New York Rangers are in desperate need of a scoring forward with the loss of Gaborik. It was thought to believe that the Rangers were going to go hard after Rick Nash before and during the 2012 NHL Entry Draft in Pittsburgh. Well, now Sather has a back-up plan in Alexander Radulov.

Throwing names out there for the sake of speculation, I believe the Rangers would rather have Radulov than Nash. Mainly because they get to decide the contract length of Radulov's and wouldn't want to have a bad contract like Nash's.

The Rangers have to sign Ruslan Fedotenko, Brandon Prust, John Mitchell, Steve Eminger, Jeff Woywitka, Stu Bickel, John Scott and Martin Biron before July 1 or they will be anyone's game to sign.

Also just for speculation, I'd like to get Michael Del Zotto and Mats Zuccarello, both RFA's, for Alex Radulov.
