Found June 11, 2012 on Fox Sports Tennessee:
The Predators made their first big move of what will prove to be a crucial offseason. Nashville announced that it will part ways with right wing Alexander Radulov and hopes to trade his rights to another NHL team. Radulov is also expected to pursue signing in the Kontinental Hockey League. It's not necessarily surprising that the Predators decided to do this. Radulov came back with much fanfare in March after spending three seasons in the KHL. Radulov left Nashville in 2008 with one year remaining on his contract. He was suspended for Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinal against Phoenix for a curfew violation -- which proved the final strike against him. Radulov's departure doesn't exactly create an offensive hole for Nashville, but it doesn't help with the Predators' almost never ending search for more scoring. At the same time, it seemed as if the Predators and Radulov weren't a great fit. It will be interesting to see how this affects Nashville...

Report: Nashville Predators Will Trade Ryan Suter’s Rights

Nashville trading Suter's rights would only occur once the Predators rule out the possibility of re-signing Suter Continue reading →

Pay Him: The Case for Ryan Suter

It has recently come to my attention that not everyone is as thrilled with the idea of the Wings offering Suter enough money to feed a third world country as I am. Chris makes a compelling case, for sure, but I think he and those who agree with him are missing a few points here. I'm up against a lawyer, but while working in a retirement home I saw a TON of Law and Order so I...

The long story about Alexander Radulov and Brooks on the Rangers’ interest in acquiring his rights

Having surveyed Russian hockey websites on a daily basis since Pavel Datsyuk joined Russia’s World Championship team, I’ve read quite a bit of scuttlebutt about Alexander Radulov’s situation, and here’s the “short” (by Russian standards; this is “long” in English) version thereof: Despite the fact that the composite Dynamo Moscow II/HC MVD team won the Gargarin Cup...

Ryan Suter - Not Worth The Hype

The same two guys have been on our mind for the past few months. Ryan Suter and Zach Parise.  Suter and Parise.   These are the golden tickets this summer. If we don’t get at least one of those two, puppies will be kicked.   Kittens thrown.  And turtles flipped.  Kenny, think of the turtles. Now, you don’t have to convince me on Parise.   Not only has he lead his team...

Bubba Dealing Suter’s Rights?

That’s what the Gore is telling us. It looks like Bubba’s in the right mind for a good, old fashioned swap meet. The Detroit Red Wings are crossing their fingers that Ryan Suter reaches free agency on July 1. But to get a crack at the Nashville defenseman, the Wings might have to get aggressive before that date, based on a report by Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period: ...

This is a multi-part series where we countdown our Top 15 moments of the Nashville Predators’ 2011-12 season.—#14 :: FIVE FOOT NOTHING RYAN ELLIS SENDS 6’2″ WAYNE SIMMONDS FLYING He had been in the league for less than a month, had already tallied his first point, scored his first goal and was even a plus-player. But on January 14, in front of 17,113 at Bridgestone Arena...

Plan D for the Wings on defense

With Lidstrom and Stuart gone, the Wings’ will heavily target Nashville defenseman Ryan Suter. The market for Suter is expected to be very competitive though this offseason and there’s always that chance that Suter doesn’t even make it to the market if he re-signs with Nashville. If the Wings don’t get Suter there’s the second-hand options of Matt Carle and Bryce Salvador...

Farewell, Fang Faction

Back in February of 2011, a professor of mine asked me if I would like to contribute to a Nashville Predators blog. Of course, I was excited, and I joined a fellow MTSU student, Seth, in the creation of a Predators blog for Bloguin. If you’re one of the original fans of the site, you probably remember Seth (he went by “Streeski” in most of his posts). He’s the guy who held...

Predators @ Capitals pre-season game announced

Not huge news in the hockey world, but it has been a slow week in Nashville with the Predators off-season. I have a feeling the signings, trades and hirings will all come at one time. The Eklund is coming out of me, I know. The Washington Capitals announced their preseason schedule today and the Nashville Predators are once again on it. Although this time, the Capitals and Predators...

Report: Alexander Radulov Not on Detroit Red Wings’ Radar

Red Wings GM Ken Holland recently said that he would look into the possibility of trading for the rights to pending free agents, but Nashville apparently won't be getting a call about Alexander Radulov. Continue reading →
