NY Rangers Blog:
The New York Rangers (23-9-4) defeated the Philadelphia Flyers (22-11-4) by the score of 3-2, tonight. For a boxscore and recap go to Yahoo! Sports....despite every effort by the refs to get this Winter Classic into overtime the Rangers gutted out an impressive win. No matter where this team plays or under what circumstances, they are going to give maximum effort to the final buzzer and it was on full display today....what a weekend. Wish the Rangers were involved in this every year. Not sure Torts would agree....between the Kopecky beatdown and his two goal today, Rupp has quickly made himself a fan favorite. Jagr salute didn't hurt either....so this Richards guy is pretty clutch, huh?...refs forgot that no matter how one-sided they tried to make it, the Rangers still had Lundqvist in goal. Hank is an outwardly emotional guy during the game, but you could tell by his reaction to his save on Briere that he really wanted that one....while he only got 12 minutes of ic...

PHILADELPHIA -- Alone in the cold, it was up to Henrik Lundqvist to preserve a Classic comeback. His signature moment came with 19.6 seconds left after New York defenseman Ryan McDonagh was whistled for covering the puck in the crease.

Little did Brandon Prust realize that Rupp was thinking of someone else the whole time.
No. 1 Star: Michael Rupp. New York Rangers
There was plenty of unexpected drama at the Winter Classic, but the most unlikely element had to be Rupp playing the hero, scoring twice to get the Rangers back into a game that looked perilously close to slipping away. Not long after Rupp's second...
The other day, I was speaking to a Comcast executive who said to me, "Peter Laviolette has the world's biggest b----."
I was making the case as to why Sergei Bobrovsky should start the Winter Classic and why I felt that Lavy would make that decision.
Like Ken Hitchcock, there are certain mannerisms about Laviolette that are entirely predictable, just as a full...
