The New York Rangers (43-18-7) defeated the New York Islanders (28-31-10) by the score of 4-3 in overtime, tonight. For a boxscore and recap go to Yahoo! Sports....with the season on the brink of spiraling out of control, the Rangers find away to get two huge points in what could be the defining win of the season....i expected Zuccarello to have a positive effect on the power play, but THREE power play goals? Wow....nice to see Tortorella finally take my advice and put Boyle in front of the net on the power play....whoever's been buying Richards the hookers lately deserves the first star as well....i guess Gaborik IS clutch....Hagelin did everything tonight but score. Might have been the best player on the ice....Lundqvist hasn't been at his best lately, but it doesn't get better than the save on Nielsen in overtime....hate to compliment an Islander, but I never thought Tavares would be this good, this soon. Can't wait till the Islanders ultima...

Rangers Lack That Puck Moving Dman

from Larry Brooks of the NY Post, Three consecutive defeats do not equate a crisis, even if it’s for the first time all year, even if it’s in March, even if the division and conference leads have been sliced to four points with four weeks to go. The Rangers haven’t turned inept, old or slow in the blink of an eye, but they sure do appear vulnerable, ragged and in need of fresh...

Losing Streak Is Not A Crisis

Ryan Callahan tries his best to talk Rangers fans off the ledge by saying this about the team's recent struggles (via Blueshirts United)..."It's not a crisis. This is the first time all year we have lost three straight (in regulation), and what do we have, 15 games left? That's pretty good. It's a bump in the road and something we have to overcome."...completely...

Islanders G Nilsson draws return start vs. Devils

New York Islanders goaltender Anders Nilsson will start Saturday's game against the Atlantic Division rival New Jersey Devils, coach Jack Capuano said. Nilsson certainly fared well in his last start - turning aside all 24 shots he faced to record both his first win and shutout against the Devils on Sunday. The Swede, who will turn 22 on March 19, is 1-1-0 with a 3.01 goals...
