Pierre LeBrun at ESPN.com reports that the Rangers are one of three teams (Bruins, Sharks) that covet the Coyotes' Ray Whitney.LeBrun adds that Whitney has a no-move clause that calls for him to list eight teams to which he'd be willing to be traded. A source told ESPN.com that that conversation had yet to happen.The 39-year-old Whitney has 16g, 33a this season. 11 of his 49 points have been on the power play. Whitney is in the final year of his contract that pays him $3 million this year....as someone mentioned during TheNYRBlog live chat last night, the Rangers need scorers not distributors and while Whitney has 16 goals he's more of a play-maker than sniper....having said that, i wouldn't complain if the Rangers acquired Whitney as he would most definitely help the power play and they should be able to get him cheap.
