PLAYERS: Teemu Selanne
TEAMS: Anaheim Ducks

Bruce Garrioch at the Ottawa Sun reports that the Rangers are one of four teams that have made inquiries to the Anaheim Ducks about Teemu Selanne's availability at the trade deadline.Selanne, who has a one-year contract that pays him $4 million, has 15g, 29a this season....Selanne's not a guy I've ever considered, but he does make a lot of sense. He's obviously shown he can still score, while the Rangers could probably get him on the cheap (unless there's a bidding war) as the Ducks will be begging teams to help them dump salary come deadline time. I'd have no problems giving up some picks and a mid-level prospect (McColgan?) for Selanne. Garrioch adds that if the Rangers don't get Selanne, still expect them to to make a move for a high-end forward and mentions Alex Hemsky. ...i've heard Hemsky to the Rangers since I started this blog four years ago. Didn't happened then, don't expect it now. Remember to follow me on Twitter & Facebook ...

Could Selanne Be An Option?

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun stated via Twitter (where bloggers get their news first) that the Rangers, Bruins, Sharks and Red Wings have all inquired about the availability of Teemu Selanne. Take that for what you will, as Garrioch's track record is on par with Eklund, only he works for an actual credible newspaper and not a pay for news scam that is Hockeybuzz (I won'...

Can the Ducks Keep Up Their Torrid Pace Come the Trade Deadline?

Don't look now, but the Anaheim Ducks have just gotten into the Flying V and are propelling up the Western Conference standings. Aaron Musick: Avs comeback falls short

Looking at the stat sheet, the Avs should have won this. Outshot the Anaheim Ducks 45-18 and just dominated the first period. Final score? 3-2 Ducks of course. Future Av (like that'll happen) Bobby Ryan scored two goals and was the best player next to goaltender Jonas Hiller as the surging Ducks got enough goals to win.
