Blueshirts United has this quote from John Tortorella on playing the struggling Hurricanes tonight..."It's an important point. I don't think any team is a bad team in this league. (Carolina) has struggled, and I know their record tells you that, but they are a good hockey club. I'd be lying if I said that when you play your divisional games---the Philly and Pittsburgh games---it is a different type of atmosphere. But we are not a good enough team to just think about the momentum of the Pittsburgh game and Philly game. We need to be ready to play every night."...this game has letdown written all over it. Will be real impressed if they come out with a strong effort tonight.Remember to follow me on Twitter & Facebook or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.

New York, December 1, 2011 – New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that forward Andre Deveaux has been assigned to the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Deveaux, 27, has registered one assist and 29 penalty minutes in nine games with the Rangers. He tallied his first point as a Ranger with an assist on the game-winning...
Derek Stepan crawled off the ice during the third period of last night's game against the Carolina Hurricanes after taking a shot to the leg, but was able to return for his next shift. However, after the game he was seen limping in the locker room and now, today, he is reportedly not participating in Rangers practice per Andrew Gross.
There's no word on whether the coaches...
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Ryan McDonagh, Marian Gaborik and Sean Avery scored in a 4:53 span of the second period and the New York Rangers rallied to beat the Carolina Hurricanes 5-3 on Thursday night for their fourth straight win.

The NHL released their Week 2 results of All Star balloting and Dan Girardi has fell out of the Top 20 after an impressive Week 1 showing at #18.There was never the excitement behind the campaign that there was with Sean Avery last year.So it is with much regret that I am shutting down the Girardi write-in campaign. If you still want to vote for him, I absolutely encourage you to...
… well deserved. Still shocked people were saying “trade Sauer” instead of Dubinsky. Unbelievable.
… talk about going from being a talked about player who started to make a name for himself to being placed on waivers only a short 2 weeks later. “Bel Biv Deveaux” was his own “poison” for his Rangers career.
Katie Strang at ESPN NY reports that Andre Deveaux has been placed on waivers today....assuming he clears and gets sent back to Whale....no Hagelin or Mitchell without Deveaux suspension, so we've got to give him a big thanks for that.Reports from practice state that Brad Richards and Dan Girardi were given maintenance days.Remember to follow me on Twitter & Facebook or e...

Last night, the New York Rangers proved they can stand up to the so-called elite. Their 4-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins was broadcast on Versus for the entire country to see, putting the team in the spotlight for perhaps the first time since the mid-90s. While Versus, and NHL on NBC for that matter, have pushed the big-market Rangers on...
Canes forward Anthony Stewart said there never was any doubt, any hesitation.
Brian Boyle of the New York Rangers hit Jeff Skinner along the boards in the third period of Thursday's game -- a dangerous hit, in Stewart's eyes. Just like that, Stewart went after Boyle, throwing punches, drawing a fighting major but also an instigator minor.
"It was one of our star players...
The Rangers had a light practice on the last day of November, a month in which they lost just two games. Smiles were abundant and confidence was evident.
At 13-5-3, the Rangers have the best points-per-game record in the NHL and even goalie Henrik Lundqvist is wondering just how good...
Do it. Get him. This team is still, imho 1 more legitimate offensive weapon away from being a Stanley Cup favorite. You have the chance to get a multiple 30 goal scorer on a favorable contract who is just now entering the prime of his career, you do it. End of story. This is why the Rangers have these assets, to make moves when they are ready…and they are ready, now.
Here are some post-game interviews, and John Tortorella’s press conference.
