from Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun, It’s a reputation Bourque hasn’t shaken, and that took a further hit this weekend when Hockey Night in Canada’s Kelly Hrudey fired pointed shots at the Flames winger.
“His passion meter — it’s not low on a scale from 1 to 10. It’s turned off,” Hrudey said. “This guy has to learn that you actually have to have passion in a game.”
Hrudey added: “I don’t think he cares about the game. He should apologize to his teammates and start playing. He’s got 66 games to go to actually care.”
Bourque, who has been held without a point in the past eight games and just two goals — one an empty-netter he didn’t actually put into the goal — in the past 13 outings, heard all about it.
“I definitely wasn’t happy about it,” said the 29-year-old Lac La Biche product after Monday’s practice. “I guess everybody’s entitled to their opinion, but I definitely don’t agree with the things he said.

Two former Flames stars will have their careers honourd by being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame tonight. As exciting as it is to play in some of the more raucous barns in the National Hockey League, a trip to Alberta is never easy. The Calgary Flames in particular are a tough squad to knock off, and Ottawa would know - before tonight, the Senators last win at the Saddledome came back in 2003.
But, tonight's 3-1 victory put an end to...
Not-so-long ago, Jay Feaster was the interim GM of the Calgary Flames, Generally one assumes anyone in an interim position is kinda like the substitute teacher that wants all the students to love him. You know the one that plays Heads Up 7-Up, mixes in a game of floor hockey rather than wind sprints, and watches movies with swear words rather than Lord of the Flies. We all realized...

Calgary Flames center Matt Stajan, who arrived with Niklas Hagman in the now-lamentable Dion Phaneuf trade, said last week of Hagman:
"There's no doubt in my mind he can contribute in this league. For whatever reason, he didn't seem to fit here. Hopefully, he gets a chance somewhere.
That somewhere is with the flailing Anaheim Ducks, who snagged him on re-entry waivers...
Maybe that will satisfy those who claimed Thursday's win didn't really count. Then again, Calgary will almost certainly be long gone when the shiny things are handed out in the spring. But it's still better than Columbus.
The Hawks pretty much cruised to victory Sunday night. They weren't spectacular. Games on the backend of a a back-to-back rarely are. But they were...

When Kelly Hrudey made his comments on Hockey Night In Canada it was a shock. Not that the comments weren't without just cause, but because Kelly just isn't the type of person who normally makes such scathing commentaries about anyone. For Rene Bourque to drive Kelly to make those comments shows how frustrated he is with the talented player and also reflects what many Flames...
