Thomas Vanek has been a Boston Bruins killer since joining the NHL as a Buffalo Sabre in 2005, so it’s no wonder the Bruins would be interested in his services.
Vanek, who has 17 goals and 27 assists in 47 games with the New York Islanders this season, is on the trading block and is likely packing his things before Wednesday’s 3 p.m. ET trade deadline. While the Anaheim Ducks have been rumored to be high on the left winger, David Pagnotta has been told by “multiple people” that the Bruins are in on the 30-year-old, as well.
In 53 career games against the B’s, Vanek has 61 points and a plus-21 rating. Vanek was traded to the Isles in October after over eight seasons in Buffalo.
