Found June 06, 2012 on Kukla's Korner:
from Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly, When the Flyers held their break-up day on May 10, the words emanating from Jagr clearly indicated the club’s chances to re-sign him were questionable. Jagr was asked three times about re-signing and avoided answering questions directly, while deferring to his “role” as being an issue on coming back for the 2012-13 season. He didn’t like being bounced off Claude Giroux’s line or having his minutes cut during the playoffs, even though it was plain he was laboring to skate because of injury. Jagr’s position in May was in stark contrast to Jan. 19 when he told reporters he was going to re-sign as a Flyer without reservation. Well, once again, something has changed…. Agent Petr Svoboda, the former heart-on-his-sleeve Flyer defenseman, told CSNPhilly.com on Wednesday night that Jagr wants to come back and that the two sides are working on another one-year deal for next season. more

Jaromir Jagr, Flyers nearing new contract before NHL Draft

During the Philadelphia Flyers‘ final meeting with the media after second round elimination at the hands of the New Jersey Devils, Jaromir Jagr knew he wanted to play hockey next season, but was uncertain if it would be in the NHL or with the Flyers. The 40-year old Jagr produced 54 points in 73 games with Philadelphia this season and proved that even with an aging body and three...

Tim Panaccio: Snider, Giroux Honored in Center City

Things you remember from being a kid ... Wanamaker's in Center City. The Eagle. The pipe organ. The restaurant on the 9th floor. That restaurant is now the Crystal Tea Room and on Tuesday, the Philadelphia Sports Congress honored a number of people, including Flyers chairman Ed Snider and center Claude Giroux. It's been so long I had not realized that NO Flyer player...

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: Carle, Tagging Space, Alumni

Earlier this week, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren reiterated his confidence that the club will be able to re-sign impending unrestricted free agent Matt Carle on July 1. It appears as if the basic framework for a deal has already been agreed upon, and it is the tagging space issue that prevents the club from re-signing Carle (or Jaromir Jagr) until the new temporary $70.3 million...
