After what seemed like an eternity in Europe, the Rangers finally returned home – well not quite, even though some might consider the Nassau Coliseum a home away from home for the Rangers, as they took on the Islanders for their third game of the season and first in North America. The general feeling surrounding Rangers practices leading up to the game on Long Island was that they were happy to finally depart from Europe and get back to some form of normalcy with their season. And what better way to start it off than by playing one of their biggest rivals – the Islanders.
