Pro Sports Daily:
Highly touted rookie Sven Baertschi will make his NHL debut with the Calgary Flames on Friday night.
The Flames summoned Baertschi on emergency recall from Portland of the Western Hockey League.
The 19-year-old Swiss standout was the 13th overall pick in last year's draft and had not been expected to play in the NHL until next season, but the Flames have been riddled with injuries.
Baertschi has been piling up points at a pace of two per game, scoring 33 goals and collecting 61 assists in 47 games with Portland.
He will play on a line with Tom Kostopoulos and Greg Nemisz in Friday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.
