St. Louis Blues forward Ryan Reaves can throw some heavy punches, and Vancouver Canucks forward Aaron Volpatti was on the receiving end of quite a few of those bombs on Sunday night.  Reaves and Volpatti both stand at about 6’1″ 190 lbs and are quite the experienced fighters.  This was their first tilt against one another and they looked like some Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots going at it, landing blow after blow.  Reaves gets the nod in this great fight, despite Volpatti’s take down.

St. Louis Blues' forward Ryan Reaves has shown that he is more than just a fighter with his play during the past two seasons. Reaves has been a big reason why the Blues' fourth line is likely the best fourth line in the league and a line that head coach Ken Hitchcock trusts in nearly any situation.

That’s a busy weekend.
As for last night’s scrap with Reaves, Volpatti might’ve picked the wrong bad dude to go with. Reaves had 13 NHL fights last season...

How Good Are The Canucks?
from Ed Willes of the Vancouver Province,
There are 25 other NHL teams who'd kill to have the Canucks' problems but, for this team, the issue this season is the same as it's been for the last four seasons.
They're good, but are they good enough to win the Stanley Cup?
You know they're close and, this half-season, they've addressed some big areas...

Once More Unto the Breach
If any team is going to be successful they need more than just their stars to perform. Everyone on the team has be able to step into the breach and save the team when it needs it. The St. Louis Blues just endured a terrible five game losing streak after starting goalie Jaro Halak went down with an injury. Backup Brian Elliot, who shared the Jennings Trophy for the best goalie...
Vancouver Canucks vs Chicago Blackhawks Game 14 notes, prediction & tweets!
Deep Diss Hockey
The highly anticipated game between the Vancouver Canucks and their rival Chicago Blackhawks earlier this month was tremendously exciting as Vancouver won 2-1 in a shootout but it lacked that physical edge everyone was pining for.
Far from revenge being exacted on Duncan Keith, it was probably the tamest game between the two teams in years in terms of physicality...
